I got an estimate on my front bumper today...It has some scuffs from bottoming out..and the paint has started to flake from the bottom up. They told me about $325 just to paint it...and it also needs reinforced. There was a metal rod removed from the bumper I think when I first bought it. I dunno if thats why it takes so much damage now. The car just rides low. I'm very conscious now, but the flaking seems inevitable.

Yea its the stock one on the 97 rs. I wouldnt mind an after market one as long as its not too over the top. I think the stock RS is sexy.. Where could I order a new one like you said? Pre-painted and all?

you can get an aftermarket OEM style bumper that looks just like the stocker but cheaper
and if 350 is the price from a body shop thats about right lol. they overcharge out the ****.

Yea.. lol I was definitely missing a lugnut. I had to get new wheel studs, lugs, and tires since then. I had a tie rod or something go bad so I had it all done, and got a new control arm on the drivers side or something...but anyway.. All I can find on ebay are pretty steeply priced ones, and they are unpainted. If I bought one of those would it be cheaper to paint than just having them repair and paint mine?

here is what you do to get the best bang for the buck. go to a local body shop and tell them you want an aftermarket oem style front bumper and have it painted. body shops can get aftermarket bumpers for really cheap but usually dont get them unless you specificaly tell them to.

thats like half the price if you were to get a cheap paintjob done on the whole car

not to mention the bumper would stand out and look all nice and new compared to the rest of the car

save your money and paint the whole thing

although I have always loved that color on the eclipse

that and white..
