i can say is check the coolant and all your fluids into the engine and then add some coolant additive stuff i had the same problem and the whistle is an exhaust leak possibly near the cat between the muffler

Uhh news flash. Exhaust gas temps are hot.

On a hard run on the track after some laps I'm pushing about 1400 Degrees... before the turbo.

im aware exhaust gases are hot but this seems to be hotter than normal

i also noticed when i open my hood its extreamly hot under the hood and yes im aware that there is an engine in there that generates heat but like i said ive never seen any car where the heat is this high

both my fans work coolant is good etc

is this normal for a 95-98 eclipse because this is the first car i came accross like this

u dont bolt on exhaust pieces u weld them on so you will have to take it to an exhaust shop. all cats are universal and the shop that sponsors me ordered mine so i dont know what model it is.

if you do get your head worked on make sure you port intake and exhaust, not just one.

a collector flange is a piece that welds to a collector. normally 4 smaller pipes into one larger pipe on a V8. there are bolt on exhaust pieces but those really shouldn't be pieced together with stock pieces. the gaskets will probably leak.

no one said anything about restriction on the intake or exhaust side of the head but in EFI applications, especially turbocharged applications, the exhaust side should have more restriction than the intake side
