QUOTE(freakingwilly @ Jun 7 2008, 07:31 PM) Well... it just doesn't work. If I hit the ON button, the CRUISE light comes up on the dash, but when I hit SET, nothing happens and I just slow down.

Haven't tried mine yet but maybe if you hold the set button a couple of seconds longer the cruise will kick in. I thought the same of my Civic until I held the button until I can feel it going.

QUOTE(rox @ Jun 9 2008, 03:18 PM) Are you keeping your foot on the accelerator, clutch, or break while you try to set it? Just checking. Cause if you are it will just keep getting reset. But I'm sure you know better than that :P
You are right rox... I do know better than that. :P I will hit a good cruise speed (40-45, depending on the speed limit), release the gas, and with the cruise ON, I will hit the SET button... and no go. The car slows down as if I just did nothing. This is major stink.

QUOTE(manybrews @ Jun 11 2008, 06:44 AM) have you done anything silly like install different taillights and/or bulbs?
Yeah... brake lights, tail lights, city lights (all LEDs), and new reverse lights (bulbs, not LEDs). And of course, HIDs. I'm interested to see where you're going with this manybrews...

QUOTE(manybrews @ Jun 11 2008, 08:25 PM) {sigh}..
put all the regular bulbs back in. then try it. It should amazingly work.
I don't doubt you for a second manybrews, but would you be so amazing as to explain why the bulbs are the root (and solution) to my problem? EDIT: Once I get the free time tomorrow evening (I hate working nights), I will swap out all the bulbs.

Honestly, Ive never bothered figuring out why. The same issue occurs if multiple brake lights burn out. Obviously, its somehow related to the resistance of the bulbs (and the fact that the LEDs dont have any whatsoever). The cruise ECM must be interpreting the incorrect resistance as you "stepping" on the pedal. the HID headlights shouldnt be affecting it, however, Id like to know how you got around the DRLs and their lower voltage. Ill examine the schematic at work today and figure it out.

Wow... that's one for the books. I never would have guessed that. Kudos manybrews. As for the DRL bypass, I used the bypass that afeudale posted. It's option #3 and it basically chokes out the DRL signal, only allowing an always on or always off function. I would much rather reroute them to my high beams (like every other friggin car on the planet), but I was having a very difficult time figuring it out so I just bypassed it until I could find the solution. Thanks for everything though.
