mine is made in japan may 07

any differances between made in japan and made in the states? it should say where it is made when you open the drivers door, where it displays the tire specs

On my window sticker it says that they are made in Japan...so I'm guessing so.

Read the first digit of your VIN. It tells you where the car was manufactured.

1 or 4 = America
2 = Canada
3 = Mexico
J = Japan

Mine says it was made in Taiwan...inspector #12 HUH??!! Rut ro raggy! My car was made by some 8 year old making 2 cents a month....NO WONDER why my paint is crap!

Not sure about lancers sold overseas,mine is 100% japanese made and its indicated under the engine hood even with some japanese instructions too :) Every lancer sold around South East Asia is almost 100 % certain made in Japan.

What confuses me is that... why are there different options for different countries? I can understand the US being the only one that has the MMCS/Navi because it only has US maps... but why can't we have heated seats, side view mirror defoggers, or (my personal favorite) OEM projectors and HIDs?!?

WHY JAPAN?!? WHYYYYYYYY?

lots of reasons.

marketing decides this kinda stuff. Other cars sold by mitsu also dictate, as they dont want to have too much overlap.
