Saw this over at Project Lancer and I figured I would share the sexyness.

They are a BMW signature feature. I love them, but installation is going to be very difficult. I don't even have them and I'm running into issues with just the wiring!

I'd hold off on them until something solid is figured out.

Oh, I am definitely going to do this. I just need to decide between Blue or White.

My Lancer is Electric Blue Pearl with 5000K HIDs. :gunsmilie:

Another wiring nightmare, NO THANKS, lol. As if figuring out the DRL fix for the HIDS wasn't enough of a pain in the ****, someone had to come up with this, lol.

Looks good, alittle on the fake side since it's not actually attached to the halogen reflector round housing. I agree that the DRL/HIDS will throw off the look. People are DEF going to have to disable the DRL's now.

I might wait for a plug and play app./OEM projectors, now those would be awesome.

Does anyone actually know what the install consists of?

RULE #1: BE CAREFUL WITH WHAT YOU DO! IT'S BETTER TO SPEND MORE TIME AND GET IT RIGHT THAN TO BE QUICK AND HAVE REGRETS!
RULE #2: Read rule #1!

Credit goes to Advanced Automotive Concepts for their instructional video on the Oracle brand Halo kit installation. You can view it HERE. I highly advise that you watch the video if you really do consider doing this because there may be some things that I may have missed. These guys are professionals and know what they are doing. I wrote up this guide from what I could remember when I first watched the video :) My write-up is quick and painless... like ripping off a band-aid on a hairy arm.

1.) Remove the ENTIRE headlight housing from the car.
2.) Preheat oven to 250°F. (I'm not joking)
*Use a gas/electric convection oven. Do not go any hotter than 250°F, you don't want the housing to melt or warp.*
3.) Insert headlight housing and bake for 20 minutes. (Still not joking)
*The housings are sealed shut with a special glue. Baking the housing softens the glue enough for you to open it up.* (I told you I wasn't joking)
4.) Using insulated gloves (250°F isn't cold to the touch), pry open the housing. Avoid getting any of the glue on the reflectors or the clear lens! Be careful on this part because once the glue cools, the housing will seal up again... which means you have to rebake the housing again.
*OPTIONAL STEP: Paint the inside of the housing. This is purely for looks and is not necessary.*
5.) Set the Angel Eyes (AE's for short) where you would want them and hold them in place with painters tape.
6.) Fish the wiring through any available hole so it is outside of the housing (on the back). For a clean and flush look, you MAY need to drill small holes to fish the wiring.
7.) Affix the AE's in place using the silicon glue (supplied with the AE's).
8.) Close up the housing (tabs and all) and BAKE THE HOUSING AGAIN for 20 minutes.
9.) Remove the housing and place clamps around the entire housing to hold it shut. Let the glue cool and harden, providing you with a nice seal. You can also use vice grips or weights, anything that will push the lens against the housing.
10.) Reinstall your headlight housing and connect the AE's wiring to the ballast (also supplied), then splice them into any 12v source.

That's pretty much it. It's up to you to decide which 12v source to splice the AE's into. AAC suggests your city lights so you can turn them on and off with no issues. I would prefer to have them always on as DRL replacements, so I would splice them into my low beam harness or onto a separate 9006 cable so it's plug and play. If you do use them as DRLs, make sure you solder a 2000uF (or higher) 25v polarized electrolytic capacitor (try saying that 5 times fast) BEFORE the AE's so the AE's get constant power because our DRL function is bad for ballasts.

Thanks again to afeudale for the capacitor fix.

im actually thinking about painting my headlights black like they did in the video, and sense i have a black car it will match perfectly and i could prob do the same for taillights. Or just black out my tailights from the outside.

if people can just bake these things open, why don't people just do that for the taillights and then paint the inside of the housing black, around the round things, so that it's perfectly street legal? btw, do the taillights need to bake at the same temperature as the headlights?

You're supposed to have even heating applied to the entire housing. That's why they suggest the oven. Just make sure it's clean beforehand...

You could, but the lens that covers the tail lights on our cars has a red tint to it. Most other cars have a clear lens on top, which makes the black stick out much more.
