I don't have an air compressor and no space to keep it if I bought one. On the other hand, I can grab an electric one (impact wrench) for around $40 and it would be pretty handy.

Would the max 240 ft lbs of torque an an electric impact wrench be sufficient to remove the crank pulley in a timing belt replacement job? I suppose if someone has the tightening torque spec, that would answer the question as well.

Also, if anyone happens to know, what size is the crank pulley bolt?

2002 Lancer ES

Thanks!

Thanks.
I'll give it a shot when it's NOT 97 degrees outside and post up how it went.

Hi,

I'm hitting 60,000 miles on 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer. Could you recommend me on scheduled maintainance. Is replacing timing belt is mandatory. I do not want to invest too much money on my car. How about transmission flush/fluid change?
