I got a lancer es (2008) and on the paper that has the car's details it says i have a 6 speaker upgrade and until i tried to update my speakers i only have 4 door ones and well the two tweeters (are those the other 2 speakers?).
my question is what exactly is this "6 speaker upgrade"

2008 ES comes with 4 speakers.

Auto makers count every speaker as one so if you have a single coax speaker for example they count it as two speakers. So when you hear X amount of speakers in X amount of locations this is how they mean it.

The tweeters are the 2 speakers. All base model cars do not have them.

1 speaker in each door = 4, and 2 tweeters = 6. That's what i have in mine.

Are the speakers worth anything or not because im thinking about replacing them with the Infinity Kappa series 6 1/2....i also have 4 :( sux

Change the fronts with components, the tweetr wires are right there for you to hook em up.

Change the backs with coax. Kappa is an excellent choice indeed with a 95db sensitivity you can even run them fairly good with the stock HU! I put in Polk db with 92db sensitivity and did lose about 1/5 of my volume because the stock HU cant give them enough juice and I'll eventually hook them up with a good amp and HU once they come out with the streeing wheel controls...

yea it sucks but now i got an amp pushing 400 watts with 240 watt speakers in the front and another 240 in the back... it sounds descent but now im just waiting to get another amp (sub-amp) with sum subs :)
