I want to change my instrument cluster because it doesnt have a tachometer. I found one on ebay that came out of a 99 eclipse automatic transmission with the same motor I have. My car is a 96 RS manual transmission. Do you guys know if this will work in my car?

yes it will fit, but there may not be a plug for the tach to work. pull yours out and take a look. if the plug is there it may work, but there might not be any wires running to it.

see if you can borrow a friends instrument cluster (they aren't hard to get out) and check if it works before you buy one

Can the wire for the tachometer be installed? If so; is it hard to do. I don't understand why any car would come without a tach especially one thats a manual transmission
