what is a good exhaust to put on a Eclipse? has anyone tried to put on a flowmaster, magnaflow, borla, or any other loud exhaust?

Let me know what your thoughts are on this topic.

Depends on what your going for....loudness,performance,or looks?
I personally say buying a full/catback exhaust for a N/A car is a waste of money.

And why is that??? Dyno numbers don't lie there is a bit to gain from cat backs in fact IMO it all adds up depending on your future plans.

my 2 cents:

its all really about your preferences if you want loud go with a loud one. i believe the loudest is the injen exhaust. if you want performance i believe the best one was said to be the Greddy EVO 2 exhaust. if you want inexpensive go for anything off of ebay that isn't name brand. if you want great sound, that my friend is all in what you hear in your ear, and no body else's!

i have a lifetime warrantied high flow cherry bomb II (a non glass pack) with an 18" resonator tip to replace the stock muffler. its has a deep tone rumble verse the regular magna flow, borla, or flow master bees in a can sound. most mufflers will give off that bzzzz bzzzz bzzzz rather than a low tone rumble.

i really think its the resonator along with the high flow muffler. the resonator helps it give a good low tone sound. i'm not a expert at it by any means. however i have done it on my last 4 vehicles and it has always sounded nice whether it was on a Mitsubishi 2.4L 4 cylinder (18" resonator), Oldsmobile 3400 series V6 (20" resonator), Ford 390 V8 (22" resonator), and on a 600CC Honda bike motor (custom made 8" resonator) . all sounded awesome to me.

I must say that I agree with your statement about flowmaster and magnaflow... I hate the sound of both on the ecilpse. The borla isn't so bad though.

If you went on youtube to check eclipse exhausts make sure you check if they're v6's, the four bangers with some of those exhausts are whiny.

Very common and has been done often.

If you want a low rumble and clean sound, Greddy Evo2. If you want a low but very high volume, Invidia. I don't suggest any other brand exhaust on this car.

I had a 3" tanabe on my 420a car and even with the turbo on it the exhaust still had that annoying crackle in it. so instead of a high flow cat I put a flowmaster 50 series delta muffler in there instead. The only way it fit was that when I made the exhaust it hung lower than stock height. but it worked and the annoying sound was gone

There is a video on youtube of a V6 eclipse with an invidia exhaust on it. It does sound amazing if you want to check it out. Just FYI if you were interested.
