My car started doing a pulsating hum while it was on the freeway. It's gotten worse and louder now. There is excessive tread wear on the front passenger tire, mostly on the outside edge of the tire. The noise is loudest at 65 mph but quiets down around 60 or 70. It also quiet downs when i turn the wheel one way. I took the one side apart and everything (tie rod, ball joint) seems to be tight. Any help?

With the wheel on teh car and bolted have yu lifted the side where the excessive wear is and attempted to shake the wheel top to bottom and side to side . Also wheel bearings can make noise if they are pitted and have no excessive play . But being that teh wheel bearing seems to make less noise when turning , take note to which way. As in when turning right and the weight isnt on that side of the car as much , it would be the right side bearing and vice versa . The excessive tire wear could be alingment related , when the alingment may be off for a bit especially on one side it can cause lots of stress on the wheel bearing. Hope any of this helps.
