WARNING Very :offtopic: but it might actually work.

Ok so my friend just bought a '94 nissan maxima. And we have some massive plans for his car.

First new stereo, pioneer or alpine head unit, alpine amp, 2 10" subs, full interior system.

Then the fun part, called the clearwire job.

Build custom storage box in trunk
purchase clearwire router
purchase wireless router
get extra car battery and capacitor

Install and run power wires from dc-ac converter hidden under seats or dash, power wires to trunk for both routers. run extra outlets for phone charger and laptop power cable.

Configure both routers and secure them with my networking tech knowledge. (going for a Cisco Cert)

have wireless mobile internet in car

Could work but why would you pay that money for the clearwire subscription if you never are going to use the internet in the car unless for long trips.

I never heard of Clearwire but i googled and found out.

Now all i can say is, go for it. Because then you will be the first. Or should i google that too and see if some one has tried this.

Edit:

Also i know they have that satellite internet for the cars, but that prob gets horrible reception, because you are on the constant move.

Just some things i found, when i googled "mobile internet in car"

I still say go ahead and try.

Well if we are the first to do this awesome. Either way it would be cheaper than internet for your car. And clearwire works like verizon internet just not a little USB pen drive. And besides thats not fun because you cant install it in your car.

The two main reasons my friend wants to do this (after i pitched it to him and said lets do it) is because he is in the military and is either at drill 80 miles from home with no internet or at home with no internet. If he had the internet essentially WIFIed in his car he could have internet at home and at drill. the wireless router will transmit up to 300 ft. 150 if you count in the walls of the house and the car itself. But that can be remedied with a seperate antenna that transmits from the car.

I know its not mitsu but its ballin what we will do to this car. i will definitely be posting pics of the process. starting with the sound system.

I'd go with broadband myself. Verizon USB broadband connection so you can use it at home and on the go.
