I have noticed that when i turn off my eclipse the engine shuts off very violently and causes the whole car to shake. is this normal? Also on another note, i installed a V2 intake by aem and my idle is all over the place. it idles around 2k rpm and bounces up and down. I have reset the battery twice and replaced several hoses, what could be causing this?

the rough shut off sounds lik what i think is called deasling or sumthink lik that but idk if that applys to these cars or not cuz there fuel injected but usally what it shut off like that it means ur not burnin all the gas in the carborater(i know its not carborated) but that is what it does back in the days lol and ur rpm issue could be part of that. was the shut off n idle fine b4 u put the intake on?

Recheck everything, You may have left a hose unplugged. or forgot to connect something.

the car has shut off rough since i bought it, i am told the motor mounts are in great shape. the shutting off rough calmed down after a tune up but that only lasted a week. the idle started after the intake, i have checked and replaced every hose that i thought it could b. i did notice that the gasket on the throutle body looks to be the wrong one, could that be the issue?

the intake could be because you need to adjust your air/fuel idle controll which will take a computer. and as for shake my 280zx does this but not always i have no clue why never really had a problem with it.

he shouldn't have to worry about that with a 420a car.

there is pretty much one hose and it's for crank case ventilation. goes from the valve cover to the intake pipe and if this is connected I would guess it's your tb gasket

the motor mounts might look good but did you check the rear trans mount?

ok, since i have bought the car the check engine light has turned on and off and three attempts at scanning the car has come up blank, so yesterday the light came on and today i drove it to autozone, the reason my idle is all over the place is because my idle air control valve has gone bad. don't know what that is but it cost $62.99. i will install the part tomorrow

IAC or idle air controller is the sensor that is located on your throttle body underneath where the cable attaches. most likely it hasn't gone "bad" it just needs cleaned. Don't install the new one right away. Try cleaning the old one and see if that works. If the problem persists then install the new one. $62 is pretty expensive

Ok, i replaced the idle air control valve and when i start the car it turns over then dies, as long as i give the car gas it will run, but the minute i let off of the gas the car dies. this is crazy. check engine light turned off and i have pulled the battery cable to reset the ecu twice. any ideas?? :feedback:
