Hey guys!
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but Googling and searching on the site didn't yield good results.
I'm using the 09 Lancer ES stock head unit, and I'm having MP3 playback issues.
Ranging from crackling, jumpy sound, etc to not recognizing CD folders altogether.
At first I thought that maybe the CDs were not that great (although I used to to listen the same cds in a Toyota Yaris head unit flawlessly). Then I burned a CD with about 10 folders, all at 160kbps, and the Unit recognies only 5 folders.
Any hints? Is the unit known for these issues? Should I take it to the dealer? (although I'm sure they will say it's a disc issue?) Is there some sort of update to fix this issue? Should I bite the bullet and accept this?
Thanks!!
Try to make sure there aren't any special symbols or characters on the folder names themselves. That should also include song files. Other than that make sure the ID3 Tags are okay and the songs aren't VBR encoded. I've seen this problem before with friend's cars and most of the time it's the encoder program that is doing this.
Also, try to avoid having folders within folders. That also ruins the folder from being recognized.
