I just got a 2G '95 GS, and it is a lot of fun, but it needs some things done.
The rear wheel bearings were bad (replaced this weekend, when I put my new 17' wheels and 215/50ZR17 tires on).
Thr next biggest things is the front shocks. They are so blown it's not even funny. I was thinking about getting these: http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/price/Mits...part/GR-2_Front
and also for the rear.
Has anybody had an experience with these shocks? I am not looking to do any serious racing, and they seem like they would work well.
Any suggestion and advice is welcome.
And while I am at it, should I think about some different springs as well?

I'd go with something better if you want a drop.

they are a stock replacement and only 10% stiffer then stock. they don't like to be drop too much before you blow them out.

I won't be droppping the car anymore than what it already is. Any lower and I won't be able to get into my apartment parking area, I already scrape/bottom out as is.
If they are just a little bit stuffer than stock, that will be perfect since I am only looking for a little bit better handling.

what springs do you have on it already? how much drop?

The guy I bought the car from explained that it was all stock, and I am inclined to believe him. There are no mods on it what so ever that I can see.

If you can afford it I recommend changing the springs as well. OEM is fine for what you want.

yea what EMC said. i always have and always will be a fan of KYB AGX struts and eibach springs. whole setup will run you around $800. but WELL worth it in the long run.

I actually can not stand the KYBs I personally think they are horrible for any sort of track use or spirited driving.

Mushy gushy and not safe... may have been the car on the not safe part but I am unimpressed with the KYB AGX's as an upgraded strut. It is merely an OEM replacement at best.

If those shocks are going to be ok, then what would any of you suggest for new springs?
I race 1/8 scale nitro RC, and the suspesion setups must be some what similar in nature when it comes to certain aspects, such as the spring rate.
Since I am looking at just "spirited" driving, to quote 3000gt, what would I be looking for in a spring rate? Too soft, too much bounce more for off road, too much tension and too little travel. I will assume that is more or less how it works on a full size car as well.
Eibach is a name I know pretty well, as well Koni, and Tien.

I can stand by them. I use the same set up to go down canyon roads.
