God day or night,
Hello to everybody,

I have Magna TJ 2002. It involved in accident while my wife had drive it. Car got side impact in front right wheel. I gave my car to AAMI to fix damage caused by accident. When I came to get my car back from repair I could not get it because car's transmission didn't work. I started to talk to AAMI and they told me that this problem isn't accident related. I asked them to put car at Mitsubishi service to have second opinion for the matter. So far I got from service guys that it most unlikely the accident problem and repairing of it will cost me about 3500 AUS$.

My question is it possible to by new transmission box by my self and how much it will cost to me?
And I need good advice what to do in my situation with insurance company.

Olease explain to meeh the full details to which it is doing or to wut it is not doing. I have dealt with many issues like this . That sumthing has happened to which is accident related and people are passing it bas not and just want to make monies of of the customer. Before yu start shelling out monies yu should get all yur "ducks in a row" and get proper advice to wether it is plausable to the accident . There is a guy that owned a Galant GS , and he was hit by sumone doing an illegal U turn , he was it in the front side of the bumper right before the tire damaging the radiator and tranbsmission oil cooler etc. Anyway he went to get his car and the minute he drove off the lot his transmission light came on and his car would not shift . He took it back and they said it was not likelly accident related. So i went back and the other service guy told meeh that when they took the car they noticed a small leak it had and went to drive it in and it slipped into gear and hesitated, and they had to replace the lines for the transmission ,and noted to the insurance company that it may be an issue with the transmission and the insurance company told them to not mention anything until they complained and that it may not resurface an issue til alot later.

Hi,

I visited today mitsubishi service there my car right now and I took friend of mine how is an auto mechanic. We asked to show us my car and checked every part from the wheel till the gearbox. The problem that I got with gearbox isn't accident related. I sow it by my self. The gearbox die by itself. Just bed luck.
We tried to drive, but car wasn't respond normally to any gear state.

Did yo have problems with the transmission before the accident?

Oil level and pressure is ok I assume?

Don't forget that from the Front wheels the drive train goes straight into the transmission,
maybe something is broken there, otherwise maybe an electronic problem?

What color is the oil red or brown?
