sorry, but thats incorrect, i'm looking at the book right here, and it says, "2000 and later 2.4L and 3.0L V6 MFI and fuel pump relays are on this bracket in the engine compartment." then it shows 3 relays in the fuse box located nearest to the driver side headlight. standing directly in front of your car looking into the engine bay the two against the bottom right side of the fuse box are relays for your fuel pump, and your MFI. i m not exactly sure which on is which, but just test both of them you'll find what your looking for if you have a fuel delivery problem.
to test them you hold the relay with the little indentation on the top while your looking at the prongs. the prongs are numbered like this: 1,2. 3,4.
with a ohmmeter, positive, and negative test wires, you hook up the ohmmeter to prong 1 and 3. then you hook the positive up to prong 4, and the negative up to prong 2. if the reading is zero ohms then the relay is good. if it reads anything different replace the relay. (keep in mind that due to the nature of how difficult this is to do without alligator clips, and also with only two hands, you must make sure the connections of the wires and ohmmeter are contacting the prongs fully or you will receive a faulty reading. double check your readings, and your connections so that you don't go buy a 30 dollar part that didn't need to be bought.)
you can probably take the relay into a autozone and ask if they have a multimeter with alligator clips. they usually have alligator clips on their battery tester and can test your relay for you. they may say no, but it doesn't hurt to ask. sorry if the post was extremely long. i hop e it helped you though!
