i was wondering if there could be a kind of member locater? nothing that pinpoints the address of a member, but kind of like the myspace member search engine. that way anyone looking for close Mitsubishi friends could find them quick. maybe make it a requirement to fill out the city, state/providence, and country where we live in our profiles before we can post. then have a member location search engine, or tool link.

i think it would make our forum community closer, rather than posting shot in the dark topics in the regional sub-forum "hey does anyone live in Central California?" (i feel like the kid who no one want to throw the football to because i can't catch. i'm in the end zone jumping up and down waving my arms frantically, screaming, "I'M OPEN, I'M OPEN, PASS ME THE BALL!)

its just a thought.

LOL why would i want your information? i can read your location from your posts. but it would be nice for the members looking for a close contact that doesn't post as much as you do. its harder to find people in my area i know of like three other members in cali. 4G63attack, playboyjenna, and 99turbospyder. thats it. two live in or near LA the other lives in San Fran. what about the members who don't post all the time?

it might be a nice feature.

pm them. With a locater we could catch crap like myspace does for helping child molester another way to find prey...

Believe it or not some people on this board are like 12.

thats what i'm saying, something that can list a set kind of area where everyone is from. not just on their profile. like i said member search list. it would be nice if i could find someone in the Monterey area. i go to leguna seca and see a few 1G/2G eclipses run, but i never see the drivers. it would be nice if i knew if they were members of our forum. i mean if your from another area and you want a place to crash before you do a weekend run, rather than stay in a hotel/motel i'd offer you a place to stay. its all about getting a tighter, more friendly community as far as i'm concerned.

although i do see the problem with child molesters, with a member locater, it is a sad fact of any internet community, no matter the format.

if you live in Riverside then you live near my buddy who is in the marines. (he lives in riverside) if you live in LA you live nearer to my aunt than San Diego. (she lives in Santa Barbara.)

i'm going to try to be at the potluck Eclipse and EVO meet on the 2nd of Aug. out at Huntington beach. maybe you'll see me there if you decide to go.

i think its cool that there are still people that let other crash on their couch, still one of them (ask nason) he came to get my gst, and instead of putting 100 down for a room i let him have the couch. and now i know if i go to ohio i got a place to crash too. its good to have connections, but in the sick world we live in i see where the problems arise.

hey Mike, if you, Nick, or any of my other buddies from our forum. decided to go on a trip to Cali in the near future. (i say near future because my wife is in the chair force and i may be moving in November, not for certain, but possibly) i would love for any of you to stop by and crash on my couch. plus i'd take you guys to see the best parts of Monterey, the sushi at the ocean bar in pebble beach is awesome and insanely fresh. (thank you fisherman's wharf) in marina is a awesome micro brewery with 20 different beers you can taste, 10 bucks for 20 different 3 ounce shots of different brew, pale ale, dark ale, blond ale, brown ale, light lagers, and dark lagers. not to bad if i don't say so myself.

maybe even drag you out to Big Sur, but not before we drive the historic 17 mile drive. its a 17 mile strip that runs right along the coast. if you can find a better coastal drive i dare you to show me, and big Sur, trust me. a nice picture of you standing in front of your modded car with the cliffs and the waves crashing on to them behind you would be a site you'd want to remember.

take you to Leguna Seca s if you'd want. we could volunteer for a day. (get to see the races for free that way) leguna Seca is big on volunteers, because of the military students out here trying to get phase grad status. i mean getting to see the races for free is one thing, but access to the garages and all the personnel areas is awesome. plus they give you free tickets to go as a spectator later. (maybe your return drive you cn stop by again and see what going on there for a day. WOO HOO! that would all be in just a 2 day stop. (i'd drive you mostly so you could get rejuvenated for the continue drive to wherever you are heading)

oh i forgot food. i grill up a mean set of ribs. i really mean that. pork spare ribs are my favorite. i know people like baby backs, but with my sauces. you will forget all about those. you'll be like "baby back what?" hickory smoked bratwurst, mesquite smoked chicken with lemon and vinegar marinade. salt and vinegar marinade chicken breasts, home made style bubba burgers. the list just goes on and on. if any of you stopped by my place you wouldn't want to leave.

well shoot i'll let you come up and crash on my couch if you want. i can't get you a discount on a track run, but i'll be there to support whatever you run. i'd love to hang out with a fellow mod enthusiast. especially one thats not a Honda driver.(there is one guy i hang out with, but he loves Honda's. (i want to shoot myself in the head every time he talks about how awesome they are!!!! PEWWWWW i'm dead thank the lord for guns!!!)

by the way i'm not sure how many of the moderators retain the information i post, but i live a small 10-20 minute drive from Leguna Seca. (depending on the traffic) it may not be that fun living away from all my friends i grew up with, but is is nice living on Fort Ord only 10 minutes away from Leguna Seca!!!!!!

The profile asks location, You can put whatever you want there.

It's not a bad idea but I look at this way. You post around the board you see the other active members, those are the people you are most likely going to want to locate. You can PM them and be ask. Or most likely the active members will have mentioned where they are from.

Or in Off topic start a thread "hey I'm going to X any one around"

yeah that could work, but i'm sure if there were a member search menu. anyone could send a PM to even a not very active member, and once they start talking online it might bring more friendly traffic to the forum.

my wife is going to be leaving to Texas for some crypt text school for three months, then to Washington for a month for survival training, and then we are going to end up in one of these three places. Omaha Nebraska (please god no!) some military base an hour out of Tuscan Arizona. (that might not be bad) or the southern airforce military base in Japan. (oh please oh please oh please!!!!!)

anyways, no matter where i end up, it would be nice to hit up a fellow forum member who knows the layout of the area. that i'm not driving around getting lost in the wrong part of town with all the speed traps and all that.

Well you have my opinion on it.

Take a look at the roll call thread in the off topic. theres like 20 members on that. Out of that, probably 5 don't live with their parents.
