I only have the basic audio/radio on my 08 es. I want to remove it to access the aux input from the radio's back. Has anyone done this? Please tell me how you removed the stock radio. Thanks.

this should answer your question. good luck - i wanted to do the same but im too scared to try it. and the rca / aux cable is rather expensive in south africa - the equivalent of +-$56.

Sorry, definitely didn't intend on hijacking this thread, but neets21, I'm a fellow South African and I'm looking at buying a demo model Lancer 2.0 GLS. Low km's, very late 2007 model for about R45000.00 less than current retail.

Are you happy with the car so far?
I think I'm getting a decent deal. Will probably make a final decision in tomorrow (Friday) after taking it for another test drive.

let me know what you think.

By the way, not a total thread jack....

One of the first things I'm going to do is rip that head unit out to install my bluetooth mobile phone car kit, so I'll be following that guide you linked too....thanks!
