Hi all,
I'm installing a GenTex Auto Dimming mirror and was wondering if I could get a pointer in to where to splice in for the +12 V? Needless to say I need this to be a constant ON source.

I've been thinking about splicing in to the Audio +12 V but it's a little harder to route the wire and I don't wanna risk damaging my audio wires.

Would the best option be running a new wire from the battery?

I've also found a few good grounds when I read through the service manual so I got that end covered.

I'd appreciate any suggestions with possible location and the color of the wire.

Thanks in advance.

The AC port located in the armrest compartment is actually a constant on. My phone charger has a blue LED built into the base, so it will illuminate when it's receiving power. I plugged it in the armrest AC port and the light came on. Plugged my phone in and it charged. Plus the car was off.

Maybe you could locate the wiring and find where the power source comes from and splice them?

Thanks willy you're always very resourceful :)

Does this mean it's a constant ON even with keys out and ignition off? I'm looking more for a constant on with ignition in ON so the mirror shuts off when I turn the ignition off. I'll check the wiring nevertheless and let you know.

I'm trying to get the darn mirror off but so far no success!

The outlet inside the center counsel is always on. I believe that there is a way to make it turn off with the key being off....but then it would be just like the cigarette lighter. You can adjust it through the Navi options.
So if you want it to go off with the ignition....then try to tap into the cig lighter.
