Hello Everyone,

I own a used 2004 Lancer ES with 53k miles on it.From the past few months I have been noticing that the car jerks(about 80% of the time) around the 20mph mark when I am accelerating.(Sometimes Its as bad as if I am being thrown from gear 1 to gear 2)

Since I am under the power train warranty,I took it to the dealership who as expected, said nothing was wrong with the vehicle .Since I did not have the time or the patience to get into an argument,I took my car back.

I am moving from NJ to OH and plan to drive by myself. But given the problem I have with the car currently, I do not feel comfortable doing so.

What do you guys think might be the problem here?
Do you think I should make the trip?

Sid.

Take it to a local mechanic and have them check your motor mounts. If your mounts are going and the rubber is ripping then you are more likely to feel the torque of the engine when it shifts. Also, just to make sure its not a a computer problem, Id pop for them to scan you computer to see if you have anything that is about to trip a code and make sure different units are working properly
