Hi ppl

i have discovered 2 problems in addition to the previous ones....

i measured the speedo with my GPS and it is 5 KPH faster than normal speed on low speed and gets up to 10 KPH faster on high speed.

also when i go at high speed about 100KPH above the check engine warning light pops at the dash...

any help much appriciated.

The speedos in the 1st generation are total crap because they are gear driven so at higher speeds they become completely useless.

What size wheels and tires do you have on the car? Anything other then the stock sizes will throw the accuracy too.

(like from the speed sensor or something like that or the ecu)

what about the check engine light at above 100 KPH???

I have been trying to search for the speedo adjuster cant seem to locate anything in the manual either......

Thinking of taking it to mitsubishi and getting it checked out.....

but at the same time waiting for that Hand held halo software to be delivered (thanks for giving me the info) so i can have a look at it myself before i take it in...

but just cant hold my horses :)

anyway will update u as soon as i get something on either....

There is no adjuster

The gears just get worn out.

Your best bet is to download the manual and go from there.

With the 100kmh light, is it only in the higher RPM?

Reason I ask is my Mach 1 does this as well. It is because of the Ignition not firing correctly when the engine is revving that high.

Thier is an upgraded speedo gear you should be able to get from a dealer that replaces the one where the speedo cable connects to the transmission.

It's a % of differance and always fast.

At 80mph I just know I'm really doing 75. I've gotten used to it.
