Every time I turn my 2001 Galant off, and then back on, the radio code has to be reentered and the odometer resets to zero. Sounds like I'm losing power completely. Has anyone else run into this problem.

Wuts happening is the retained power is is not working or was bypassed. The constant power supply that retains the bcm and radio memory as well as other things that have a power supply even after the key on power is off. . Sorta like hooking a car radio to instead of one lead a s 12v positive all the time and one 12v with ignition on , both are on a 12v key on , so when the key is off it powers down , i saw it one time , sumone shorted the 12v hot and could not fix it so they ran the both hot, and it was causing a same result yu are having.

Mine was dong this a few weeks ago. I also couldn't lock the doors with the remote. I found a 10 amp fuse located in the power control box under the hood that was blown. I replaced the fuse, and everything's fine now.

Thanks for the replies guys. It was that ten amp fuse that controls the door locks, radio, interior lights, and a few other things. The fuse would blow immediately when I put a new one in so I traced the problem down to the map lights and all is well with the world again.

Thats awsum, wonderful its okies, yeah electricals are sumthin , but if yu have a general direction of things its cool. Yeah that fuse underhood is for the "retained power" of many things on the car.

THANK YOU!!!!! My 2000 Galant was having the same problems and I feared the worst. Thankfully I came across this site and replaced that 10 amp fuse and problem solved.
