QUOTE(silver03GS @ Jun 20 2008, 10:21 AM) If you're looking for eventually aftermarket mods to do to one of the cars then go eclipse but if you're just gonna leave it stock, I'd say still go with the eclipse, the eclipse 4cyl is faster than the mustang V6 as well (or at least the ones that have tried to race me.) But as Lewiman said go with what you prefer. There is nothing wrong with a mustang but the ratio of those on the road vs 3g eclipses is like 100:1. But like I said go with what you personally like not what other people like. dude the V6 mustang has plenty of potential for after market mods! i'm not sure what kind of crappy drivers your racing against. but 16 year old girls who just got their license don't count LOL j/p when i had my 04 Alero it would spank the 3G eclipse RS we have now. just flat out leave it for dead, and that was with me driving my automatic Alero and my best friend driving the eclipse. (this man can speed shift and drive his face off) truth of it is he needs to think in relative cost for upkeep. i'm not sure about the mustang, but my eclipse has been rather costly. i mean aside from all the electrical problems i have had to fix. the engine a transmission are awesome. however i have ended up spending well over a grand in electrical components alone, and thats just in the 2 years we have had it. now don't get me wrong i like my car, i mean its fun and everything, but i'd rather have a stock V6 with power than a modded 4 cylinder. mods tend to make that ever so great gas mileage go down and also affects the whole daily/driver status. plus lets not forget the fact that the mustang is rear wheel drive. Drag races better, and you can drift in it. whats not to like about that?

Good point about the rear wheel drive, you live in Canada so **** that. People park their rwd cars in the winter here in connecticut never mind Canada

well it is the summer, and not all of Canada is frozen bro. he could be from Vancouver where it is warm during spring summer and fall. he already has a 88 ranger for snow driving. i don't think he is looking to trade that in, not like he'd get much on a trade in for it anyways. why does everyone assume Canada is covered in snow 365 days a year? its just not like that!!!

probably not, i used to live in utah. lots of hills and lots of deep snow. the eclipse isn't exactly the best FWD vehicle to have in the snow either.

Now if it were a GT mustang it would be a different story cause the 4.6L V8 is an amazing engine. And if you think a little over a grand for electrical problems in 2 years is bad, try owning a VW, $900ish for a cracked thermostat housing, another grand for an ignition coil, and $500 for a new starter. All in the time period of a month if not less. Now that's ridiculous. But like I said it's all in what he personally likes and would rather drive every day for quite awhile.
