i had a problem with my flywheel bolts walking out on me (fly to clutch) well i just kept tightening them when i started to hear a scraping noise, would just remove starter and wrench em down. well while driving her last, started to make a grinding noise and figured i was 2 miles from the house ill be ok.... thats what i thought, the clutch pedal was fluxuating and kinda sync'd with the noise, then just dropped outta gear, no accel. but would engine break. only snails at 5 to the house, slips in and out of gears, now i realized my clutch was lost in the process due to the sound of something shredding, but the bolts, all 4, walked out all the way, do i have to replace flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, and bearings? and is anyone selling those parts stock for 96 420 n/t?

The parts aren't too expensive but labor will be if you have someone do it. If you do it yourself, use some locktite on those bolts. For cheep parts, try rockauto.com.

Its a modular clutch which means the flywheel pressure plate and disc are all 1 unit. The "flywheel" is more like a flex-plate in these cars and the modular clutch mounts to it. If you have to replace the clutch you might as well replace the throwout bearing while your in there and as for the "flywheel" unless its damaged because of the bolts working themselves out then I wouldn't worry about it.

i dunno man those "flywheels" in ur cars are heavy as ****... if your upgrading the clutch might as well upgrade to a nice fidanza aluminum flywheel. : :57:

The "flywheels" in our cars are actually really light its the modular clutch is what is heavy. If anyone has done a conversion please tell me because I want to get rid of that modular POS.

thx, on the fly wheel were the bolts feed thru, it kinda looks like a figure 8, is that still good or no? and im gettin a clutch kit, just got to get some money up.

They should be a round hole. If they arent a circle then I would guess that you should replace it.
