You may have to contact mitsubishi service centre/parts dept-- for the hand unit

or have an aftermarket system fitted

Well yu will have to get a alarm pad at the dealership and programed to yur cars anti theft and locking module. With the new remote and programming it may not be as sensitive anymore , and also will add key free unlocking and locking

You can turn off the alarm by inserting the key and unlocking the door from the outside. My remote is toast and that is what I do

lots of the radio codes are , well like most people i kno with other systems unlike mine, the radio code is in the owners manual case on a card. But if not go to teh mitsubishi dealer with the registration and ask if they can give yu the radio code. My cousin in teh USA did that before and they gave it to him. All they had to do is pull the vin and get the generic radio code for the car.

Are you 100% certain ? I tried that route, and the sercice Dept. at 2 dealers said the VIN was not cross reference-able for the radio code; this would make sense since anyobdy can read the VIN through the windshield.

I am 100 percent certain. I will ask him again in a little , but he called over the phune and they said they could not give it to him over the phune because they dun kno if its his car or not. So they said come in with the registration and he did and they gave it to him , and he came back and entered it and the radio turned on.

Good News; if htis is true, I will take the car along with documentation to the dealer and get the code from them without the $ charge. Both delaers I called said they had to remove the radio and get the serial number off of the back, and then reference it from there. I would appreciate if you can verify.

Thanks !

Your friend must have had his car serviced at that dealer so they could reference it; I went to 3 different dealers and they all said that were 100% positive that there is no way to get the radio code from the VIN, and that you must have the radio serial number; how difficult is it to remove the head unit ?

NO , his brotehr serviced his car always. I kno for a fact because my 2 uncles and his brother and father own after market shops there and so as we do here. I was sceptical tho and asked him , cause i was unsure myself , because i remember this coming about years ago about 7 years ago i remember this incident. maybe he forgot. Maybe his brother had taken the the radio out and thats how he may have known the number to give the dealer frum the radio. Im unsure , maybe that was the case and he forgot.

Sorry if it inconvenianced yu anytho .But good news i have posted in the " Intake and Induction" post or look at the "links" 96 Diamante and Magna up i have put in a section for programing teh factory transmitter. Its for asian and australlian models but it may apply to yur model also and hopefully it should. Thats if yur system is not aftermarket tho.
