Sorry if this has been brought up before. I did a search and found no direct topics.

I have a 2008 GTS with nav. How do I hook up an ipod? I bought a cable to connect the ipod to the audio rca inputs (red and white), but nothing. Do I need one with all three (red, white, and yellow)? Also, do I have to put it on AUX? When I press it there's only a black screen.

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

As far as I know, you won't get anything on the display of your Navi. You will have to hit the aux button & control your IPod throughthe IPOD itself & not the radios controls.
Not sure if you played videos though....if that would actually work on the radio's display. I would think that it would since you can hook up a Playstation to the connections on the dash & play through the radio......
FYI, there is a post on how to enable your video playback while your vehicles in motion. Yes it is illegal, but an option if you like.

Hook up the iPod to your car with the wire that you bought. On the Navi, select the AUX option and the screen is supposed to go black. Finally, start up your iPod and play the songs. Like SixFeetDeep said, you cannot control the iPod from the car controls.

You could get the RCA wire with all 3 wires (yellow, white, red), but the screen will still say "It cannot be displayed while driving" even if you do have the bypass. The bypass only works for DVDs.

Hope this helps!
