I read the post on crank but won't start and it didn't help at all. When I try to start the car I get nothing it doesn't even turn over. I checked the ignition switch, all connections, had the starter tested, checked altenator connections, clutch relay is being depressed, batteries brand new, fuel pump is working and I'm getting nowhere. What am I missing????? :(

I tested the starter and it is getting power. I checked the fuses under the hood and I changed the ignition switch. It doesn't make sense. The previous owner had an alarm. I took out the siren, but the wires that lead into the car are still atached to the battery cable along with some other wires that I think led to an amp and sub. Could the alarm be cutting off the ignition?

from the sounds of it your saying that your car doesn't crank. but then you did refer to the engine cranks but won't start issue. i'm a little confused, but i will try to help you anyways.

did you take your fuel supply line off at your fuel rail and put the end in a bottle and crank the engine? if your getting fuel to here. test to make sure you have spark. get some rubber gluves just in case on this one. dish washing gloves seem to work awesome. pull your spark plug wire off and slide your boot down the wire so the connector sits just inside the end of the boot.

have someone crank your motor while you have your spark plug wire connector sitting close to your valve cover. (please make sure you have remounted the fuel supply line, i don't want you to blow your car up, or face off) if you are not getting spark here, you may need a new distributor cap and rotor. if you are still getting spark here then there is apparently something wrong with your fuel injectors. worst case scenario is a ECU problem, or faulty injectors. could be bad fuel injector o-rings, or faulty fuel injection wiring harness.

if its not one of these, then i don't know.

I will check the fuel line and see if I'm getting spark, but doesn't your engine have to crank in order to get spark? I read the cranks but dont start post because it was the only thing close to the topic of "won't turn over" that I could find. Sounds like it could be a spendy problem :( I hope not, this has taken much more cash than I had expected.

Did the previous owner give you the box to turn on and off the alarm? I know the alarm in my car kills the starter so it wont crank over if the alarm is active.

Your wires could possibly be grounding out everything. If you know which wires aren't being used, pull 'em. Especially if they are just hanging any which haphazard way.

I mean the alarm wires.... just wanted to clarify so you don't go yankin' all kinds of wires from your car.

The previous owner only gave me Headache. He sold me the car with the engine and tranny pulled but said they were good and just had to be put back in. Got it home and found out the engine was blown. Went to register it and found that it is a salvage tilte; not once but twice. No he didn't give me anything for the alarm. I don't even know if the alarm module is still in the car.

Thanks Mad Hatter; I will pull those alarm wires and see what happens

+1 on the alarm being the first issue to address.

the second thing you should do is find the guy who sold it to you and make him drink brake fluid
