Yep. I was on my way home from the Union Station in downtown Chicago because my girlfriend and her family needed a ride home. So, after picking them up, I head out and set my course for the infamous Lake Shore Drive heading northbound. About a mile or two in, just after the Michigan Ave exit, I pull into the leftmost lane and cruise it out all the way to the end (for those of you who don't know, Lake Shore Drive is a 4 lane highway). About 2 miles in, some dingbat in a sky blue Kia Spectra does a 2 lane jump from the mid-right lane over to my lane. The fool didn't even bother to check his blind spot before jumping and nearly SLAMS into my car! Now, I saw him make his speedy move just before he came into my lane and was able to slam on my brakes. Unfortunately, he had already cut EXTREMELY close to my car and his left wheel was already in my lane.

After 15 seconds on my horn, he realized he was about to slam into my car and pulls back into his lane. Here's where it gets crazy... I then realized that my car was EXTREMELY close to the median wall. Naturally, I knew I was already close to the wall so there is no way I would have pulled in closer. My car pulled in on it's own... and if it didn't, he would have hit me hard enough to push me into the wall at 60mph. The jerkwad has the nerve to look at me like I'm at fault! So what do I do?

I told my girlfriend to take pictures of his car and license plate. As soon as he noticed she was taking pictures, he makes a speedy dash for the nearest exit and leaves without a trace (oddly enough, he had all these US Marine Corps stickers/decals on his car... for such an avid Marine fan, he pulls a very cowardly move). We get home and I inspect my car. Thank God there was no damage, not even a scratch.

I would have filed a police report if there was ANY sign of visible damage, but nothing. The worst thing I can get him on is reckless driving... and honestly, who ISN'T guilty of that? I'm just thankful we were all ok and my car is well. I swear, I saw my car's life flash before my eyes :grin:

See! See! Take care of your car and your car takes care of you! :grin:

Dang man, I'm glad you weren't caught in an accident because of some fool's inability to correctly drive. I mean... double lane hops... triple... quadruple ( :laughing: ) are nothing hard to pull off as long as you look back and see the line you're gonna travel >>;

I know what what mean though... driving on 4 lane roads (GA400/US19 for me). Once again, glad to see you're okay man. :beer:

I hate all the $hitbox drivers. You know, those who have nothing to lose! And the Kia's are up top on the list. Whenever I see one I try to stay as far as possible.
Glad you're alright though.

Driving a truck everyday I see ALL kinds of crap like this. Morons zippin in & outa lanes & NOT looking. Pretty much get outa my way kinda driving!

But what are ya gonna do...really. You catch up to the ahola & start a fight & something happens....like damage to either of your cars, or worse & then you both get hauled off to jail for road rage. Sometimes it just isn't worth it.

Keep the plate info & keep an eye out for the jerk. OR better yet....post it here & mysterious things CAN happen. Just so happens I have a bunch of friends that are cops :gunsmilie: one of them is a lead detective that can cough..find cough cough him...if you know what I mean.

I got yo back brother :devil:

Glad everyone in your car is alright & that ol' blue is good as well.

Funny thing is, I just had an incident today where I almost got clipped by some dumb driver in a 325 BMW. I saw his head, he didn't even look at the mirror and just changed into my lane but my Lancer just magically slowed down :o and avoided from being clipped. Must have been the engine and cvt trans slowing down :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

I'm telling you... despite the shoddy work done to them during manufacturing, they just want to show us their love!

WE LOVE YOU TOO LANCER!
