I have a few maintenance questions concerning a 2002 Eclipse Spyder. First, what is the air purifier filter? I know about the filter that is under the hood but the Eclipse manual says to replace the "air purifier filter" and "air cleaner filter". Are they different? Also, does the 2002 Eclipse ever need to have the fuel filter or the PCV valve changed? Thanks!

The air purifier filter is a filter that filters incoming air into the cabin of the car. Yes they are different but not all cars came with them. I don't know how you can tell if your car came with one or not.

Yes the fuel filter and pcv valve should be replaced every so often. I do not know how often you should generally change them though.

your fuel filter is in the fuel pump assembly. if you find a way to replace this you let me know. trying to replace your fuel filter on a 3G eclipse will end in you destroying your fuel pump assembly. DO NOT attempt to change your fuel filter. the fuel filter is a non serviceable part. if your having fuel supply problems it isn't the fuel filter.

Thanks for clearing that up. It was hard to find that information. I wasn't sure if the fuel filter could be changed.
