Hello everyone. I'm new to mitsubishi, lancers, this forum, and the whole tuner scene in general. For 15 years I had an 87 Mustang GT 5.0, but spending 300+ dollars a month on gas didn't make sense to me for a 20+ year old car. I have since sold it and moved on to a 2009 Lancer GTS w/ manual transmission. All I can say is wow! This car handles amazing and the 2.4L gives it just enough quickness to have some serious fun. There's no way my old mustang stays with this car on a curvy back road. I can say that I test drove the CVT and the manual overnight (dealer let me take them), and IMO theres no comparison, the manual just blows the cvt away. Also, imo, in this car class the Lancer hands down has the best looks. A civic si looks like a clown car compared to the lancer. So needless to say, I absolutely love my GTS and applaud mitsubushi. Well down.
Now on to my questions:

Does anyone else find it odd that there is no badging on the lancer? Wouldn't they want to make distinction between the gts and other models and the 2.4 vs the 2.0L? Since I have the 09 with the 2.4L I was hoping there was some emblems that say 2.4L and GTS, but there are none. I have found an online store that sells the chrome letters and numbers, so I'll just get my own, just thought it was odd there was no badging.

Also, what mods, if any, will void my warranty. Mostly I'm thinking about exhaust, intake (cold air kit), or turbos or nitrous. Would mods like this void the warranty?

I didn't drive the CVT, but I'm loving my Manual 09 GTS :)

You should be able to get away with an intake and exhaust. Check with the dealer first just in case though. Headers, Turbo or NOS would probably do a lot to void the warranty.

Technically, its not really voiding the warranty. Mitsu has to prove the modification caused the malfunction and it wasn't a manufacturing defect/product failure to void it. From what I've read cases like this are hard to back in court though, but I'm in Canada so I have no personal experience.

There have been a few threads on this, so search the forums to find more info on it.

Pretty much any after market is going to void the warranty like NOS or turbos.
