1. My passenger door handle broke and I bought a new one. I have the entire door panel off, the screw out of the end of the door, and have it pried off somewhat. I broke the handle in half at this point. There is a bolt on the inside I can barely reach and I can't get the plug thing off where you put the key in the handle. Does anyone know an easier way? It looks like I am going to have to completely dismantle the door here. I don't know what to take off next... it seems like part of the inside metal part of the door will have to come off next... please help.

2. I was going to replace a blown speaker in that door. I measured but I guess I measured wrong because the 6.5" speaker won't fit (too small). Does anyone know what size will fit perfectly?

This is a 98 GST Spyder...
Thanks for the help!

OK I did find this about the door handle. This isn't an easy job where it is located!

I also found that the speakers are maybe 7"? I hope I can find an adapter...

i just had that problem not too long ago. first, take out both of the screws that hold the handle to the door. there are two little plastic snaps(clamps) that connect the handle and the lock to the bars that open the door/ unlock the door. once you have removed those snaps you have to sort of wiggle the bars out of the snaps. now your door handle should come off in a upward motion.

when you try to reinstall the new handle, basically follow the in structions but in reverse. make sure your snaps actually snap back around the bars right, or you handles wont work. you might need someone with smaller hands to help.(i did) when you put the lock in make sure you put the retainer pin (has a U shape) on all the way!!! if you dont you will have to take the whole thing apart again and redo it!!!just put your screws back in and you should be done.

hope i could help
