Hi Sublime

I have a blue 2004 CH Lancer. It is completely stock, until a) loan's paid off or b ) I can come into some money. I have the little wing on it and the 14 inch rims. Love to go crome 16s with a big zorst and drop her a bit, just for a meaner look.

How have you got the evo8 kit on with the headlight assembly? Aren't they different shapes! I like the black too.

Dan

Well thats what i thought! thats why it took me 3 or 4 months to get it coz i didnt think it'd fit but they do! the only part that doesnt fit is the bonnet, but there's just been one made (im not sure if its just a local guy doing custom jobs or not, but theres a guy here that makes them). i didnt think the front bar would fit, but the bottom half of the lights on the CH are the same shape as the lights on the CG (evo8) its just the top half of the headlight that goes further up the bonnet. but yeah, it fits snuggly.
it hasnt cost me much to do mine up a bit, was only bout $200 for the zorst supplied and fitted(i dont recommend getting a mandrel bent system, it chews fuel like nothing else and sounds like shit! just get the cat-back... found out the hard way), my rims were $2000 - ouch! but yeah the extractors etc etc were fairly cheap, i got mine lowered 3.5" for about $160. just little things like that make a huge difference in appearance. i also have little add ons like under car neons, a red grill, stickers etc etc things like that. looks pretty schmick. HOPEFULLY i get the engine a little more upgraded soon, i just dont know what to do to it other than turbo it, and i cant afford a turbo or anything :(
anyways, chat to ya soon.

nah firEVO, i dont have an evo8, just the evo8 kit on an ES and a few mods. turbo to come soon. there is a bit of street racing round here... not usually for money, just for pride and to show off and stuff... the illegal skins (money) racing is kept pretty quiet, theres not much of it. Most of it is drags anyway, not actually street racing. drags arent as fun as street!! theres a heavy prescence of police and they keep a pretty close watch on most ppl. Alot of the guys round here have alot of illegal mods, so they all keep a low profile. Anyway, where u from? whats the scene like there?

Yeah we've had the Evo8 here for a couple of months now, but only as a race car, with the first road cars being sold recently. Despite a huge following, the Evo8 got off to a shakey start when the first 8 in the country was rolled at a media day. Mitsubishi was not impressed.
Street racing? There is a fair bit if you know where to look, but as has been said the guys are a close knit group and the keep it real quiet. We've got good dragways open to streetcars so most of the street drags have ended, but street racing is still around.
Sublime- I hope you've got the performance to match the body kit! Nice work.

Where abouts in Newcastle do you live.
I come from Teralba. I pick up my brand new lancer VRX on Wednesday, it is red because red cars go faster.

I just came across this forum and sublimes post. I am looking at putting an EVO VIII kit on my Lancer CH ES limited edition and have found the same difficulty with the bonnet being different. Sublime mentioned that there was some one who was doing the bonnets now in the EVO VIII style for the CH lancer, can sublime or anyone else supply any more information on where an EVO VIII style bonnet for a CH Lancer can be sourced. I am also from Newcastle, NSW, Australia. It's good to see a forum that caters for us Aussies.
