I have a '95 Eclipse GS that I would like to remove the power steering from, permanently. When driving, especially fast driving I really dn't like how squirly the steering is.
I have heard from many people, that this is easily done. I just want to do it right.
Does anybody have any dvice on this, or know where I can find some good instructions?
Thanks in advance.

there are many old topics on this floating aroudn if you want to search for them.

basically, find a 14mm and 10mm socket, a 6inch 3/8" extension and a 3/8" ratchet. loosen the belt by spinning the adjuster with the 10mm socket. remove the belt.

remove the power steering pump using the 14mm socket. make sure you have a drain pan to catch the fluid. remove all other components of power steering (resovoir, cooler line, etc). Make sure you retain the feed and return lines to the steering rack. block them off by putting bolts inside and clamping them down with small worm clamps.

find a belt size that will run your A/C off of the crank pulley unless you don't have A/C then you don't have to worry about it.

or,,,, cut your belt
