Man...
See, I've got the RRM v1 (maybe v2 was out when I got it installed, but the both the dealer and I didn't even know about it 4-5 months ago when I plopped down the cash).. and I didn't really notice any extra low-end, but it gave it that extra bit of throttle response and a lot more queue-able audible edge that fits the looks. Never liked the constant drone of aftermarket exhausts. I wanted a CAI from the start, but I couldn't find any at that time.
Anyway, I've been pining over this thing as a replacement for the last month but with fall and winter coming up, and hundreds going down on winter tires, I'm literally trying to justify to myself that it would be worth it -- even for the short month or two before the snow and ice hit. Or wait until next year, which seem more logical and practical.
Well, that and HIDs, but those are good all year 'round if people don't start firebombing me in winter if I'm blinding them with glare (though the heat would be nice). I'm not willing to drop 30-40/month on replacement halogens that emit whiter light. I know yellow is better for snow and fog conditions, but I've never liked yellow lights in anything but pure fog lamps.'
Maybe there really isn't a difference between the Injen CAI and the RRM v1. Maybe the pulley is a better idea. Maybe I'm rambling because I'm stuck at work at going on 4AM, with nothing else better to do.
SFD: First impressions?

Oops, I just noticed that this possibly useless post rolled over the thread page, so I'll requote you just so it doesn't get lost in the sands of time

Well after receiving my new Injen today....it took me a little under 2 hours to install it. I jacked up the drivers front & popped off the drivers wheel & removed the several clips holding the wheel well plastic in place. I also removed the fog lamp housing & the fog lamp itself & getting to what I needed was really simple.
I took Willy's advise....take care of the trans cooler bracket 1st. IF ....IF you can remove the trans cooler on GTS models ONLY....3 screws hold that on.....lay the trans cooler down while you remove the (2) mounting brackets that where already on the car & replace it with the one that came with the new intake. Line things up & pop that trans cooler back on.....your in business!
NO popping off the front bumper as they suggest....it was really pretty simple & straight forward. Kinda tight to move around...but if my fat @$$ can do it...you can too.
NEWBIES....don't be afraid of doing this project by yourself. I'm not the most mechanically inclined person, but this was really pretty easy. The instuctions that come with the intake are really great...would be even easier if the pictures were in color....but I got through it & you will too.
Besides....when you got a friend like freakingwilly on your side.....pretty much any mod is possible with his wisdom & know-how. Thanks William.....I owe you one for all the times I ask silly questions & your ALWAYS there to help. Well....I prob..owe you alot more than 1 liebe011.gif
As soon as I get up in the morning....(jeez just looked at the clock...it IS morning!)
I'm taking it out for a spin....heres hoping that all is good & yes...I did install the Hydro Shield as well...better safe than sorry
