Whats up everyone? I own a green 01 clipse' GT 5 speed and I love it. 18" Konig Unknowns, 5% tints, clear corners, 1200 watt system. It looks great and its fast... but for me its not fast enough. I want to know what I can do to improve this, although Im not really looking to turbocharge it. If anyone has any good suggestions or anything, please let me know.

there isnt much power to be had from this car unless you go FI. you can spend $2000 and get maybe 30-40hp out of intake/headers/exhaust. or you could spend $2000 and get about 100hp out of it with a custom turbo

there is two places where you can get a turbo kit. AAI and FIAS.

AAI doesnt have a website and it usually takes a good 4-6 weeks to receive the kit. there have been a number of people who have had to wait 3-4 months before getting the complete kit. however, this is the best kit on the market right now. if you have alot of patience, then i would recommend AAI. cost... $3900 complete

FIAS ( www.fiautosports.com ) sells a Max Rev kit. it is currently being made and you should be able to purchase it soon. cost...$3200 w/o fuel upgrades or gauges. you can get the fuel upgrades and gauges from FIAS for like $600 extra.

2 things... where could i get a custom turbo and also I was told that inorder to get a turbo you will need to have your engine worked on so it can handle the turbo without blowing the engine. So if this is infact true... wont it cost more than 2000?

a custom turbo means that you find the parts from various different places. this is why it is fairly cheap.

as for the building the engine, it would depend on how much boost you plan on running. the v6 has been proven to hold 10-12psi. anything above that, you would need to go with forged pistons. everything else is fine up to about 25psi. 12psi would probably put down close to 400whp.

ummm, to me the best and cheapest way to make your car faster would be to get rid of that heavy ass sound system.

Thats nice of you bobthecow to be so concerned but the heavy ass sound system is only an extra 70lbs... less then most any passengers in my car.

thats still an extra 70 pounds. which means that if you raced a car exactly like yours without a sound system, and they could race exactly as you do, they would win. the only good way to add a drastic change to speed and acceleration is to add a turbo/twin turbo to your car. but its costly. the big difference is that with a turbo, youll spend about 1500-3000 total and get a huge gain, whereas for headers, exhaust, air intake, you spend about 1500(the good stuff) for a minimal gain.
