I have a 97 3000gt SOHC and i was wondering if its posible to put a DOHC head on it. And how much trouble would it be tp do this. And i have jst a single turbo from a vr4 and i was wondering how hard it would be to install and what all is needed to install this turbo on my car. And if it will work on a SOHC if i cant do the SOHC to DOHC swap. Thanks for your help.

it cant be done. the sohc, dohc, and dohc turbo blocks are all different. they do however bolt up to the same transmission bellhousing. people swap the dohc TT into sohc equiped cars.

i dont even think that it would be worth that. all im going to do is just get headers, exhaust, and an intake. then save for a vr4.

Here's more bad news: those upgrades will do so little and cost about the difference between your car and a VR4.

headers (cheap OBX ones) 400 bucks
intake 60-200
exhaust 400-1000

totaling over 1000 dollars if done cheap, HP gains, under 8HP.

or, a nice down payment (or if you look hard enough, almost half the cost) or a VR4 or Stealth R/T TT

5K or so.

i've got a 98 with 4k in upgrades (still slow) and a brand new tranny and clutch and only 74K on it. i've had it listed for 9 and can't get rid of it.

i'd say clean the baby up, make her look shiney and put it out for 5. also depends on the shape though, and mines in like pristine condition for a 10 year old car.

If you paid $600 I would flip that car as soon as possible, you can't lose money on the deal.
