QUOTE(freakingwilly @ Jun 28 2008, 12:55 PM) Everything that is available for the 2.0L Lancer will fit the 2.4L Lancer... ... Well maybe not the turbo, but who the heck wants that? ^_^ Now that's funny. I didn't know that about the parts. I keep getting "not available" from a couple performance parts places. Thanks for the information.

You'll get that a lot too. People think that the 0.4L displacement difference between the 2008 GTS and the 2009 GTS makes an entire difference on the engine bay, exhaust piping, headers, etc. It's the exact same car. Just because it's different on the inside doesn't mean it's different on the outside. I can say with certainty that if it fits on the 2008, it'll fit on the 2009. The only reason RRM has the new SRI for the 2008 AND the 2009 is because... well, it's a marketing tactic. All the other performance part companies don't have anything that's 2009 specific, so this strategy appeals to those who do not fully understand the 2009 body. You can go look around everywhere, but RRM is the only company that sells 2009 Lancer specific items. But let's take a closer look elsewhere... Works AB Exhale"Application: '08+ Lancer DE, ES and GTS" Ever notice that all the performance parts for the 2008 Lancers all say "2008+ Lancer"? The + indicates it should fit every Lancer that is 2008 and up. So don't be fooled by anything that says it's designed specifically for the 2009 Lancer. Nobody is dumb enough to spend more money for R&D when they can just market the 2008 stuff to the 2009'ers.

As long as it says 08+ Lancer "GTS" then I'll feel comfortable since the DE and ES didn't have an engine change of any kind. Also, here is the K&N filter number for the 09 Lancer GTS: 2009 MITSUBISHI Lancer 2.4L L4 F/I - All Automotive Air Filter 33-2392

All differences between the DE, ES, and GTS are purely aesthetic. DE has drum brakes. ES and GTS get all disc brakes. The GTS gets larger front brakes. DE doesn't have a rear sway bar. The ES gets a 20mm. The GTS gets a 22mm. DE has standard steel rims with hubcaps. The ES gets 16" rims. The GTS gets 18" rims. DE doesn't have A/C or power options. The ES and GTS do. The GTS gets climate control. DE and ES get standard automatic transmission. The GTS comes in CVT with sporttronic shifting and paddles. DE and ES get standard shocks and springs. The GTS comes with "sport-tuned" suspension. DE and ES get a 2" exhaust tip. The GTS has a 3" oval exhaust finisher (which does nothing for performance). DE, ES, and GTS all come with the same 2.0L 4B11 engine (except the 2009 GTS, which comes with 2.4L).

QUOTE(shadowdom29 @ Jul 6 2008, 03:43 PM) There are still no decent OEM looking exhausts on the market for the 08+. The Works exhaust is just a pipe with a tip, not worth the money. The RRM exhaust rusts quickly. And everything else is a coffee can. If coffee cans are your thing then you're set but for the rest of us that like a more refined look, the only options are to wait and hope something better comes by way of Borla, Dezod, etc. Or go and make your own exhaust. :amen: Custom stainless steel is the best way to go. At least you can get a tip that looks good.
