Everything can be done, with money.

There is a guy with a civette. He has a corvette engine in his civic.

It can be done, as bobthecow said, with money. The only thing I think you may want to consider is the strength of the frame. I don't think these frames would handle 500-600 horses for very long. So frame strengthening would be a top priority.

Also, you might also want to consider how you will work on it while its in the car. The engine bay is cramped with the larger 2.4 models, so I would expect there to be less than no room with the small block. Which would mean you would have to remove the engine to do any moderate to major work on it.

so then you think that the small block would fit in the engine bay of the talon? because that is my biggest worry. oh and if i make it RWD do you think that would work with the a new tranny and rear end?

You will have to cut the firewall and remove/redirect lines. The radiator will most likely have to be pushed forward. If the shifter doesn't line up with the existing shifter then you will have to fab up a connector. You will need a fuel cell and possibly remove the spare for the rear driveline.

.....pain in the ****.

But what he says is true. If you really could spend all that money on putting a nice size V8 in there... then you could also spend money on a ligenfelter conversion for that V8, and then you would be running at 1200hp on your DSM. How many people have you seen that can do that?

yea its been done, acouple months ago i saw a 1g with a v8(think it had a ford not a chevy in it) for sale on ebay, he stated he put over $40,000 into the car, he had a buy it now price for $25,000. Ebay isnt the most trusting site but all the pics he had on the car it looked pretty legit.

Blah Blah , small block this that , wutever . The 1st gen 6bolt engines are actually very strong and can make alot of power. Just the fact that by the time yu get the car or by the time yu decide...i want more power the engine has been driven thru hell and a few trailer parks , not to mention lack of oil changes. If yu gunna spend that kinda monies to do all that might as well find a GSX shell or sumthing and tweak out the turbo engine , or tweak out yur current engine if its a 4G63 , turbo it etc if its not turbo.

DSM is the motor. thats what we are crazy about not the car itself. so of course we are gonna say your crazy. sorry bud thats the truth

Easy guys, he might not like the engine, but thats is not that he is crazy, every one can do whatever they want to their car, he is just asking for a little help, and james don't get so mad, of course every one here would love to have 1000+hp in their cars, but, like justice said we preffer 4cyl over than 8cyl, but if you want to do it go ahead, i think that would be a good project, sorry i can not help you with your questions 'cause i don't know much about engines and mechanical stuff
