I find that the headlights on my Challenger are really dull and give poor lighting, i tryed replacing the bulbs with Phillips Power2Night high performance bulbs, which only made a very small differance.

I noticed that the challanger headlights, unlike most cars i have seen, Have these metal deflectors right infront of the light bulbs, which must deflect the light back to the reflector rather than shining straight forward like most headlights.
Is it possible to remove these bulb deflector disks, and would it help provide better light without them?,
If the deflectors are removed, will the bulbs(standard wattage) burn a hole in the polycarbonate lense cover?

Thanks
Tom

Consider resurfacing the lens covers first. They sell kits (in any auto parts store)that contain a mild abrasive that allow you to wax out the haze, scratches, and pollution that have contaimenated the lens covers. As you did, I switched over to hi powered head light bulbs (Sylvania Silver Stars) and they made a dramatic difference. That's why I suspect your lens covers may be the problem.

good luck
