I'm looking for help in replacing my stock cloth seats with leather instead. Has anyone done this and could give me some insight on how it came out. I found someone on CarDomain who did it and he posted pictures. Here is the link. Leather seats on a GTS

Those leather seats look pretty nice. I'm not a big fan of leather seats, but I might want to do this, well depending on how much $$$ I might call a mitsu dealer and ask about this package.

To replace cloth seats cover to leather seats cover is very easy, but to leather trim your doors panel, you will need skill.

to purchase a set of leather seat cover only cost you about USD 600
freight cost is about USD 254.00
Total Cost = USD 600+USD254= USD854
you upholstery the seat yourself cost = USD 0.00
Door panel send to trimmer to insert cost USD 200
so Total Maybe only cost you to replace leather seat cover USD 1,054.00

From what david has said about himself on the forum, he is a contractor that works with Mitsubishi direct. He can get body kits and upholstery for much cheaper than what we would ever pay.

All in all, it seems like a good deal and I'm digging the blue trim too. I'd get leather, but it's a pain in the butt on a hot summer day... not to mention thighs and back!

CHISS HOT!

I actually like autoseatskins.com's seats. they have a virtual seat creator that allows you to personally design OEM style seat covers anyway that you like. Problem is that they haven't designed seats for our 08+ Lancer yet, i sent them an e-mail about it.

Personally, not a big fan of logos and colored inserts. I like a solid one tone perforated look. It looks cleaner. It would be nice if Mitsu offered an option for "no colored insert/logo for the front".

The rear seats look perfect thou. I dunno man, i want leather seats so I think I might just take some pictures to a upholster around my area and compare the costs/quality etc.

more to come....

Hi buddy, did you ever do a calculate the cost for assembly a car, and compare how much you paid for your new car, if yes, than you should have the ideal what is the cost manufacturer had paid for their Leather seat cover they purchase from the OEM supplyer.

If don't believe, you can order from me. i assure you just need to pay that much.

Currently, i was on the business trip, and cant show
you the picture, i will back to office next week, thereafter i will take some picture and show you

Thanks

The MITSU dealer near my job said $1295 installed.

You can probably find a leather place to do it for cheaper if you look...

I found one that'll do my Seats & Door trim... basically every place the material on the seat is..
they will replace it w/ leather.
Your choice of color and style, mitsu logo placement etc. $963 installed.
Haven't done it yet... I'm gonna buy a laptop with the $$ I was gonna spend on it.
Hurry up ya dayum stimulus check... jeez.... I must be the last one to get one.

I agree about the cheesy fuzzy dice, lol.

But the prob w/ the Blue CF trim is that he didn't style the door trim correctly...
If he would've used a leather the color of the interior roof, it would look tight.

Katzkins make great leather upholstery. Their installers dont just put on a leather seat cover over your cloth but remove the cloth and install the leather covers. You can pick and choose your designs, leather types, inserts, decorations, etc.

The dealer near me quoted me $1700 for their leather install. They had an eclipse spyder in the show room with the same leather they use. Really cheap crap. This leather was really hard and really rough, totally not worth the cost. I'll probably contact Katzkins for a dealer/installer near me and have them take care of my stuff. Plus the price Katzkins quotes you is for the leather and installation of the front and rear seats, plus the center arm rest, and side panel inserts on both front and back (if the specific car has rear side panel inserts).

I know Katzkins are very famous in the USA, and also know that they can do a very good job. But do you know, you are also able to do as good as katzkins.
maybe you can feel the comfort of the leather by katzkins, but you wont feel proud and satisfaction to yourself.
Were you be thinking to install the leather cover kits yourself during the week end. were you be feel proud to tell your friend you intsalled the leather cover kit yourself.

Paid less, but gain the satisfaction and say proud to yourself and friend

Nice thread...got my interest tweaked so i just called my Mits dealer. They offer full leather (colour and stitching options of my choice) on all seats, head rests and door panels for the equivalent of $648.00 all in.

Sounds like a plan! I really like the outcome of http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2479558/7 (without the blue in lay).

Ya, your picture show is the 1 that i comment quality is just average, well our friend here had fit the same leather cover as your paid $1,700.00. and can see on the picture only half leather finish

By the way leather with 2 tone is nothing special in the market. we are often add carbon fibre finish on the 2 side wing.
