Ok, i own a fairly new Lancer ES 2008...done a little over 5000Km.
2 things have been happening since i got it. I mentioned them at the 1500Km free service but they couldn't reproduce them.
1. The CD Player seems to make a repeating high pitch noise when volume is 30+. Seems to be more common with MP3 CDs but happens on normal CDs too. Haven't heard it on the radio, but i almost never listen to it. I think i am slightly more prone to these noises, i can hear CRT TVs making a similar noise when im in a different room. But still, it shouldn't be there.
2. After moving off from park the car makes a bit of a clunk/grind for a second. I can actually feel a vibration through the clutch pedal. Seems to happen after its been sitting a while (ie, in the morning before i goto work, or when i leave work) and only after a reverse (ie, out of my garage/parking space.) It takes about 5-10m of driving before it will happen...and before you say it, no i am not grinding the gears, the car is in gear, and my hand is off the gearstick when it happens.
anyone else had these? i read about someone complaining about their radio, but they didn't say wat the actual problem was
Other then these 2 problems, i am very happy with the car.

I got your first problem! It happens on MP3 CDs. It's nothing loud that hinders the listening at first but with time ears will pick it up and gets annoying. I think it's probably a design flaw... I don't think we could ever get it fixed as probably all the decks are designed in such a way. Let me know if you can get your dealer to do anything about this.

Ok, i went and saw mitsubishi today, as i got off work a little early...
Problem 1) One of the guys came out to the car with me and listened. He couldn't hear it, so i suggested we try a car in the lot. We tried 2 other cars. The first one still did it but it was more of a hiss then a high pitch noise. The guy could hear it then. The second car we tried was a little worse and he could hear it even better. So we went back into my car and he could now hear it, now that he knew wat to listen for.
Unfortunetly because the other 2 cars did it, he didn't changing the unit would make any difference.
He said the only thing he could do was submit a Dealer Maintinance Report, or something, to Mitsubishi.
So, for the moment, i will put up with it until my next service and ask them about it then to see if MItsubishi have fixed it...
Problem 2) Apparently thats normal for my car. The salesman knew nothing about it, when i spoke to a mechanic guy he sorta finished my sentance when i was explaining it, so had obviously been asked about it before. He said it was the clutch attaching or something. Sorry, im not the best with car things, im a computer nerd :P
so yea, im glad they heard the problem...
