The Timing belt tensoner pully, it is extremly easy to F*** up! mine did just a few days ago and i did some research to try top find a conversion from belt to chain so i could get ridd of the **** thing plus if ur gonna race chain is way more relyable than belt ever could be and usually lasts the life of the car so i think ima call up AEM and see if they can come up with custom change-over... whatcha think guys?

I personally think it's pointless but if you think it'll help then I say go for it. But it ain't gonna be cheap. You're better off just getting the new parts and keeping the belt.

Why in the world would you want a timing chain? Do you even understand how much of a hassle chains are? They cost about 10 million dollars to repair, and when they mess up, it is a god awful mess. The guides will bust and destroy your engine.

I have no problems with my tensioner and it is 120,000 miles old. The chains themselves will last forever, but the guides will break every 100k miles or so. It is much easier to replace a single belt and pulley than it is to replace a whole guidance system.

 I agree on that one. Belts are much easier to deal with than a chain is.

My belt has lasted me 85,000 and it still runs fine, I need to get it replaced soon. But like Nick said if a timing chain guide breaks on your car, and causes the chain to get messed up, you're going to have a bigger mess on your hands then if a belt just breaks.
