Could possibly be the oil pump is going bad. If that's the case, you would want to get that checked ASAP! No oil = dead engine!

On our crooked **** engines? Probably a major pain. I believe you would have to remove the engine to get to it. Not entirely sure though. I have yet to do any major stuff to my engine yet.

ok first off the oil pump on the 4g63 and the 4g37's (2.0 and 1.8) almost NEVER go bad... VERY rarley... second the 1g gauge is just like that.. when you idle it should read just barely above the first line sometimes right on the line and when you gas it a bit it should go up some more.

+1 and if they do go bad they lock up and snap the timing belt. there usually isn't any warning. I don't mean to worry you, this kind of failure usually only happens when someone puts the gears in the oil pump wrong or installs a cheap balance shaft eliminator kit

from experience my oil pump went out with out breaking timing belt??? but the person who had it drove it with no oil pressure so it ***** up the main bearing.
and to get the oil pump off you have to take off driver side wheels take off all the belts and front plate.

^ conventional oil. the kind they pump out of the ground is basically dinosaur carcasses that have been under pressure and fermented over millions of years(same as coal). hence the name "fossil fuels"
