Hi everyone. Actually its my dad's car. its a 1.1 colt mirage, 2006. Been giving it a good clean in and out whilst he is on holiday.

To the point -

The car wont start, turn the ignition and it just makes a clicking sound. The immobiliser light is displayed on the screen, but not all the time.

i have had the radio running for hours on end i must admit, but not longer than i would have done in my own car, which ive done before with no problems.

Anyways, tried jumping it today and i honestly dont think its the battery. And the head lights dont seem dim enough either.

Now i cannot find the spare key for some reason. i figured it might be a problem with the key after reading the manual, but i dont know where hes put it so i guess for the next 2 weeks that option is out of the window.

Would apreciate help or advice, hope to hear from someone soon !

Thanks, Mike.

:00000732: to the forums

does the emobiliser have a hand held control ? or is only with a key

if the starter motor is only clicking it may be a stater motor problem

what does the hand book say about the emobiliser

What do you mean by hand held control ?

I think its the battery, the electrics are very week, and the sunroof struggles to operate, as does everything else in the car. The starter motor was clicking, but i guess seing as ive drained it further, it only seems to make a whirring noise. ive curently got the car hooked up to another car with jump leads. It doesnt seem to be working.

"the immobiliser indicator lamp comes on in the event of a malfunction in the system electronics"

Will try that forum too, thanks.

Picture of a hand held mobiliser control

ok try a new battery
remember when you jump start a car it is

positve to positive donor car to your car
negative to engine (usually the lifting hook of the motor )
(not the negative of your battery )

from the owners hand book - when using jumper leads
if you dont earth the motor of your car /you can damage the computers
