under the intake or the intake manifold?

to do the manifold its just popping screws. there's probably a lot of them, just keep track of them and don't drop anything into your engine.

Okies there are the retainer bolts , for the upper intake plenum , In the rear of the intake manifold plenum there are 2 reinforcment brackets , one all teh way on the left side of teh plenum and another right near the throttle body , Yu will need to remove these bolts. Near the left side intake manifold bracket is the exhaust manifold to intake plenum connector pipe. With 2 bolts bolts bolting it to the back of teh intake plenum , watch not to loose the metal gasket after yu remove the bolts , if it falls most times it falls not too far down , and if it falls all the way it goes to the ground. Remove all plug ins and harness brackets that are mounted to the sides of the intake plenum. There are 2 coolant hoses that are hard to get at under the throttle body because its really close to the distributor and cap , most cases i disconnect the throttle cable frum its bracket on the plenum and unscrew the throttle body bolts and leave the throttle body coolant hoses connected and the throttle body where it is and remove the intake plenum to get to the rear three plugs and spark plug leads

Hello Kit Teung,

I am working on removing plenum to replace fuel injectors. Nearly had the plenum removed last night, though something near the rear right corner was still connected. Couldn't figure it out??? After reading your post I'm thinking it's related to the throttle cable/body. Any chance you have some more advice or pictures for a newbie? I intend to keep coolant hoses connected.

Sincerely appreciate your help,

Scott

Greetings Scott,

There are intake plenum bracket bolts (2) , where the throttle body attatches to the intake plenum , right behind it , they cant really be seen frum above but if yu are on the right side of the car yu can easily feel them. , If yu look frum above/on top it is inbetween the EGR valve and the throttle body , there also is a firewall to throttle cable grounding wire. Also yu need to unbolt the throttle cable frum the intake plenum , and leave it attatched to teh throttle body

I checked my plugs on my '04 Diamante last month - first time after ~110,000 (oops). I was counting on spending 30 mintues or so. (oops) Yes, you have to completely take the manifold off, plus lots of wires for god knowns what. It's a few hours work atleast. I guess they can't make it easy if they want to fix a 3500 CC engine under there.
