I want to hear from as many spyder GS owners as I can on how they like their cars. I'm still torn on swapping my GT for a GS and the jury is still out on if its a good idea or not, some like it and some don't. I don't care about all the horsepower but I still want something peppy and not sluggish. Also what is your average MPG??? Please respond.

Thanks, Dan

I don't own a 4g gs but I own a 2g gs (how much difference can you really have with what 10 extra hp?). You will not be happy with a gs after driving a gt when it comes to how peppy it is.

I can't say anything regarding the GT, but have recently became the proud owner of an '07 Spyder GS in the wicked Sunset Pearlescent color. It may not have wicked acceleration and killer top end speed, but it doesn't leave me wanting anymore. I've had a few nice rides over the years with inline 4s and V-6s and it's the strongest thing I've driven for its size. Mine has the 4 speed auto and I like the ability to shift manually when desired.

The V6 would be a nice choice, but makes the car a bit front end heavy (from what I've read), would add about 3 grand to the price, less fuel efficiency and would likely increase insurance rates.

If you want a peppy ride with great gas mileage for what it is I'd say go with the GS. I think the world is slowly changing and engines will get smaller and smaller as time goes by so we all should embrace it now. Besides you could always turbo the 2.4 and smoke alot of cars on the road if need be.

MPG for my style of driving is right around 26-27 overall right now. I get around 400 miles on a tank, but don't run it dry either. There is probably 2-3 gallons left after that 400 miles. I'd say that is decent for the performance/styling of this great little car. I've gotten more compliments for this car in the last month than for all previous rides combined since I've been driving, which is about 22 years. Later!

id have to agree. if you had the money you could go with the gt but in the end my oppinion would be the gs is just as good actually better cause you get more gas for your money and the gs i belive (no one has proven me wrong yet) has a higher top speed (not if your interested in it or not but figured id toss that out). the other good things would be less ensurance and is alot lighter than that gt.

in the end its really what you can afford

the gs is probably just as good as the gt.

Thanks for the answers, guys. Its nice to hear some different results. Most GS owners say I'm nuts for even considering it and they say their MPG is only 1-2 better and slow as a car towing a boat behind it.
I love my GT and I got it cheaper than a GS because of a relative at a dealership and that it was a demo, I only paid 22,000 with 5,000 mi on her.
My cousin has been trying to hunt me down a GS to try but to no avail yet so we'll see, if not thats okay.

Ive had my GT doing 140. What is the top anyone has had a GS up to?

I dont consider 220 lbs a lot lighter. You carry one large adult with you and a GS weighs as much as a GT.

I have a GS 5-speed and it does very well in MPG.It is pretty quick, not earth shattering but quick. But i can easily pull away from traffic.
The only thing that would make this car perfect for me would be RWD.
As much as i like it i will never get used to FWD in any car.

Why don't you get a dealer to let you take one home for a weekend.
