I have been beating my head against the wall and am hoping that someone can help. I have a 92 diamante where the coolant is leaking and coming down the valley of the 3.0 sohc. I have replace all the coolant parts except for the pump. I am wondering if it could be a bad pump or ?????? If anyone has some suggestions or tips to help me figure this thing out it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Is there a b it of water in the V of the block? or is it merelly leaking frum the timing cover area? If the V/valley area is filling with water , there is a water connector pipe , that runs in the center of the V and goes into the back of the waterpump. There is an O ring that is on it. It is possible that the o ring has gone bad and causing water to leak thru that area. On very limited cases i have seen this, merely if the car has run low on coolent at one point and run hot. I have onlee seen this coolant connector pipe rust thru at the base where it enters the back of the water pump onlee once.

The oring was my first thought. When i took that tube out the bracket where it bolted on was bent and the tube was also rusted through. I had to replace both of them along with the radiator. This is what led me to believe that it was the water pump.

So yuve already replaced the tube and o-ring , yeah next bet would be that. I also had replaced the water pump on the one case that i has with teh rusted pipe, The water pump wasnt really leaking , the pipe was leaking alot but i felt good measure to replace the water pump , upon taking it out , when i looked on teh inside the fins of the water pump were all rusted and almost gone. Good thing . I hope yu can cure yur leak. Good Luck

got the water pump replaced. Looks like what was happening is that where it was supposed to drain down the block was clogged and there for finding the easiest path. The bearing is the pump were toast. felt like there was sand in them. but all good now thanks for you input.
