My wife has had her Outlander for about a year now and when we got it it didnt come with the fog lights.... WELL.... I was driving her SUV the other day and hit a bird and knocked out the round cap thing in the bumper where the fog lights should be. I now have to not only take apart her wheel well and dig the dead bird out of there but she is making me buy her fog lights so she doesnt have a huge hole in her bumper.

What companies out there make fog lights that fit in the holes of the bumper???

Link seems to be gone now. But I'm looking for suggestions for fog lights on my 07 Outlander, too. Anyone else have any ideas? Cheers.

I took my After Market (AM) kit to the dealer and they told me it was not the right one for my car. Maybe it was for American cars but not the canadian version. The lights can be installed tho, but they have to adapt a new harness to place it in the fog light hole. It will cost me aprox 220$. I didn't trust the dealer so I went home to investigate myself, and they are right the harness that comes with the lights is inappropriate and I'll need to screw the thing to the bumper. Not to mention I probably have to remove the bumber to place the things.

I've learned my lesson, don't buy AM things before being 100% sure they fit the car. In the website of the AM lights they always say it'll fit any car.

Now I have a set of lights that are good for nothing. Wasted $100 bucks on them.

I will like to know if there is a way to only buy the sockets of the fog lights. Anybody has a photo at least of an authentic 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander fog light set?

Thanks!
Peter

Hey Peter,

Sorry about your luck with the fog lights, I can understand how annoying that could be.

I have been looking ionto it as well, and the one thing I noted was that either way you go, you will also have to purchase a new steering wheel arm, for a switch.

Basically, The dealer i go to has the kit for $440, and the lighta come with surrounds for the sockets, plus a new arm with a new lighting indicator. $440 canadian, and they wanted around $650 ionstalled, both the lights and the new indicator arm.

Prob is, with anything american, there laws regarding DRL (daytime running lights) are diff than ours. I understand that American versions of the outlander have fogs for DRL and ours is our low beams. Once the Kit is installed, our DRL's are still the headlights, but you can use the switch to turn on the fogs.

Hope this helps....I'm still learnin as well...and I'm hesitant to spend $650 on fogs
