I am trying to build my eclipse into a show car. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a head unit or amp for my car.

we need a littl more info here man.
How much of a show car is this? Is it still your daily driver? Most hardcore showcars are not drivable.
Are you willing to fabricate for a double din unit?
What are your needs as far as the amp?

yes.. as of now it is still my everyday driver..
i have 2 infinity reference 1250 watt 12" subs. 300 rms Hz.. i want to get clarity at higher volumes from them.
i am not gonna refabricate for double din..

i was looking at the Alpine IVA-D106 or the Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD .. i am just asking for suggestions and feedback..thanks guys

Out of those 2 i would go with the pioneer.
The Alpine only has 2Volt preouts making it more susceptible to electrical noise interferance.
The pioneer has 4Volt preouts so this would be less of a problem.

As far as the amp goes we still need more info bud.
What is the VC config of the subs?

If you want clarity out of those subs you are gonna want a sealed box and a high quality amp. Both Infinity and Eclipse make amps with great S/N ratios.

FWIW -
S/N ratio pretty much goes out the door at about 60db because we can't detect a difference between that and 110. Higher S/N's are better in theory, but basically any amp built in the last, 20 yrs (?), will have be good enough there's no need worrying about it.

I want to know how you even install a aftermarket head unit when in the console/ dash you have that little circular grove for the eject button. Do you order a aftermarket dash as well? If so where

Looking in your info you have an 07. The newer cars get the harder it is to do aftermarket things to them. With intergrated computers and one of a kind dashes you may not be able to have an aftermarket head unit in your car without some extreme fiberglassing which is alot of work and not easy to do.
