Hey guys, so i just got a 09 GTS about a week ago, and since the first time i started it there is a weird clicking noise. When i turn the key not all the way, but to where all the accessories are on the car makes a weird clicking noise. Its alike four fast clicks and then a few clicks evenly spaced out. I dont have any idea what the noise could be. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks everyone for the help.

If it kind of sounds like it is coming from the rear of the car i hear that same noise and I have an ES. The Car I test drove at the lot did it as well.

Don't be afraid, all Lancers do that. It's just the car doing a quick self check. Nothing to be worried about.

Well...another theory could be the battery was really low....that would produce the clicking sounds. But if it started, you could rule that idea out

It comes from the throttle body. The sound is the electronic actuator powering up and moving to it's predetermined startup position. Normal, of course :) But I suppose if it is really bugging some owners, they could remove it. I doubt they'd get very far, though <g>

umm you are all wrong. But thanks for trying. It is your ABS solenoids self testing to make sure everything is A ok every startup. Ask a real mechanic next time. Dealer mechanics are only as good as your backyard buddy. Trust me, they just have more tools thats all, not necessarily the knowledge.

GASP! The car doing a self-test?!? THAT'S UNHEARD OF!

I refuse to read the last 10 posts because it is completely irrelevant to this post!

FYI, every person that starts this car gets injected with a tiny particle that causes clicking in the head through a nerve next to the ears (won't get too technical) and no one else in the car can hear it. I have tested it on many people and I am the only one who can hear it when i start the car. Now thats a reasonable explanation to why the clicking noise is being heard from the driver.

+1000000 for my post its right and you're all wrong!!!!

What was just said was totally false and if you believe me.... then there is no hope for you.
